Adaptogens

What Are Adaptogens?

Adaptogens are plants, herbs, or medicinal mushrooms that assist with mental and physical daily stressors. Working through a variety of physiological pathways, they help strengthen the body’s natural resistance to illness, and encourage a state of balance. Adaptogens are unique from other herbs because they are bidirectional: they can stimulate or calm a process in the body in order to achieve homeostasis. Adaptogens have long been used in herbal traditional medicine around the world, most commonly to aid with fatigue, mental and emotional stress, immune function, and various effects of aging.
