BioGaia Prodentis For Teeth and Gums

BioGaia Prodentis lozenges is a food supplement for oral health containing the patented lactic acid bacterium Lactobacillus reuteri Prodentis (L. reuteri DSM 17938 and Lactobacillus reuteri ATCC PTA 5289) that helps the good microorganisms keep a natural balance in the mouth.

How does Lactobacillus reuteri help with oral health?

Lactobacillus reuteri Prodentis was originally isolated from a human with good oral health who had no gum problems or tooth decay.

BioGaia’s probiotic products with Lactobacillus reuteri are among the most scientifically well-documented probiotics in the world with regard to both efficacy and safety. To date the efficacy and safety of BioGaia’s different strains of L. reuteri have been documented in 203 clinical studies in 17,200 people of all ages.

Lactobacillus reuteri has shown result in 105 clinical studies in children, from newborns up to 18 years old, and 98 studies in adults. Probiotic strains that have been used in clinical trials are BioGaia Protectis (DSM 17938), BioGaia Gastrus (ATCC PTA 6475) and BioGaia Prodentis (ATCC PTA 52899. Probiotics and Oral Health

Symptoms of gum problems

Healthy gums are pink, firm and fit tightly to each tooth. Signs of gum problems are gums that are red, sore and bleeding, especially after brushing. Bad breath can also be a sign of gum problems. Ask your dentist or hygienist if you are unsure if you have gum problems.

Some signs of gum disease include:

• Bad breath or a bad taste in the mouth
• Teeth that seem to be loose or have shifted position
• Gum tissue that is red, swollen and/or bleeds easily (healthy tissue is pink, has an orange peel appearance and does not bleed)
• Pus between teeth and gums (healthy gums are tight around the tooth and do not bleed)

Our body cooperates with bacteria and mouth are no exception. The oral cavity contains around 800 different species of bacteria and there are more than one billion bacteria on each tooth. Under normal conditions, these are in balance and protect you from illness, but when the balance among oral bacteria is disrupted due to inadequate oral hygiene, stress and poor diet can plaque forming bacteria gain the upper hand, causing gum problems.

Serving Size

1-2 lozenges per day. Use regularly for good oral health. Consumption of foods containing isomalt and sucralose instead of sugar contributes to the maintenance of tooth mineralization. This product should not be used as a substitute for a varied diet.

Directions: Use preferably after tooth brushing. Let the lozenges melt in your mouth, preferably after tooth brushing. The recommended daily dose should not be exceeded.

Ingredients

Bulking agent (isomalt), Lactobacillus reuteri DSM 17938 and Lactobacillus reuteri ATCC PTA 5289, fully hydrogenated palm oil, peppermint flavor, menthol flavor, peppermint oil and sweetener (sucralose). One lozenge consists of a minimum of 200 million live L. reuteri Prodentis. Net weight per lozenge, 800 mg. Excessive consumption may have laxative effects due to the content of sweeteners in the product.
