Description
Bi Yan Pian is one of several formulas that were produced in China in tablet form as a replacement for antihistamines in the treatment of acute symptoms of nasal disorders without the undesirable effects of drowsiness or dry nose and mouth. This version of the prescription is designed for Wind Heat or Wind Cold attacks with painful swollen sinuses, yellow or clear discharge, frontal headache, slight fever, stuffiness, ear congestion, sneezing and other common head cold or allergy problems. Bi yan pian combines Wind expelling, Heat clearing and aromatic ingredients to open the nasal passages and the sensory orifices. It may be appropriate to combine Bi Yan Pian with other formulas such as Dispel Invasion, Yin Qiao, or Initial Defense to increase the Wind Cold, Wind Heat or Toxin clearing function.*
