N-acetyltyrosine (NAT) is readily converted to L-tyrosine, which serves as the amino acid precursor to the catecholamines. The liposomal preperation is a fat-soluble and enhances NAT's absorption through lipid bi-layer cell membranes, including the endothelial cells of the blood-brain barrier.
