Aromatics contain terpenoid compounds useful against blocked circulation. Tonic herbs such as ginseng (ren shen), tang kuei (dang gui), and loranthus (sang ji sheng) are included to treat restricted circulation in the lower body. In addition, herbs such as clematis (wei ling xian), siler (fang feng), chiang-huo (qinag huo), gastrodia (tian ma) and loranthus (sang ji sheng) dispel the pathogenic factors of wind, cold, and dampness, accumulation of which can cause blockage of the channels.
