How Lomatium Works

Lomatium is a supplement that could foster optimal immune function due to the lomatium extract it contains. Often referred to as biscuit root, lomatium can enhance immunity thanks to the oleoresins it comes loaded with. Oleoresins have been found to encourage the activity of a white blood cell type called phagocytes. These are responsible for consuming and then destroying anything the body considers to be an “outsider”, such as foreign microbes.

The Lomatium Detox Rash

When taking lomatium for the first time, some people exhibit a one-time detox rash, which is remotely contagious or dangerous. It is just the way the body shows it is on the way to flush off toxins and harmful substances that are stuck in the tissues through the skin. Nevertheless, it can make the detox a little uncomfortable and scary for some individuals. Expect the rash to show up about a week after taking the formula and to look pretty much like measles.

To prevent or minimize this effect, it is suggested to start with a very small dosage at first (i.e., around one to five drops in water once a day for seven days, for adults). Note that teens and little kids do not get the rash and, even if they do, it is considerably less intense. It will also go away much sooner than in an adult. If you intend to give lomatium to a child, the suggested dosage is one to three drops once a day for seven days. Then, you can increase according to your physician’s instructions.

Don’t forget that it is highly unlikely you will get this detox reaction a second time. The only instances of a handful of people getting a light rash the 2nd or 3rd time are when the time period between the first and second or third time are years apart.

Important Notes:

• On rare occasions, lomatium may cause distress in the stomach and the GI tract. Use according to your practitioner’s instructions.
• Consult your physician before taking the formula if you have severe kidney or liver disease or are pregnant/nursing.
• Speak with your doctor before giving lomatium to a small child.
• The typical dosage is one to three milligrams of lomatium per day unless your healthcare provider directs otherwise. This refers to up to 40 drops in 2 oz. of fluid (juice or water) two 2-4 times a day.
• If the detox rash persists for more than two weeks, discontinue use. The same applies if an allergic reaction occurs, though this is extremely rare.
• For maximum results, take lomatium between meals.
