About MegaIgG2000

MegaIgG2000 is a Microbiome Labs formula specifically created to help support healthy digestion and detoxification. The product also plays a pivotal role in strengthening gut barrier function. To help maintain healthy gut barrier function, though, the dairy-free immunoglobulin concentrate is derived from bovine serum instead of bovine colostrum found in other milk-derived immunoglobulins on the current market. This makes it a casein-free, β-lactoglobulin-free, and lactose-free formula that fully supports a healthy mucosal immune system. Worth noting is the fact that more than 10 published human clinical trials have already used the serum immunoglobulin in MegaIgG2000.

How MegaIgG2000 Works

The most abundant antibody in the human body is immunoglobulin G (IgG) and can be traced in extracellular fluid and the blood. Its role is to help control infections in the body. In doing so, it produces antibodies that bind several different pathogens, including fungi, viruses, bacteria, and their own toxic by-products. This process enables them (the IgG antibodies) to neutralize the toxins so the immune system can then jump in and remove them from the body.

Why the Mucosal System Matters So Much

The mucosal system is the primary interface between the outside world and the human body, which is why it plays a fundamental role in the human immune function. It is also one of the most significant immune barriers, considering that it contains 150x more surface area than skin.

How the body reacts with antigens is directly dependent on the health of the mucosa (the membranes that line different cavities in the body). Hence, it is paramount to ensure the integrity of the intestinal mucosa to ensure normal immune function. After all, it has been widely known and scientifically proven that a dysfunction in the gastrointestinal is related to most inflammatory conditions and immune dysfunctions, including gout, rheumatoid arthritis, eczema, psoriasis, rashes, food sensitivities, allergies, and auto-immune disorders. Therefore, maintaining a healthy mucosal membrane contributes to the strengthening of the gut barrier function and consequently the improvement of immunity.

How MegaIgG2000 Fortifies Gut Barrier Function

MegaIgG2000 helps reduce immune activation, which, in turn, supports a healthy mucosal immune system. The concept behind how MegaIgG2000 plays a leading role in the strengthening of the gut barrier function is straightforward and has to do with the immune response.

When an antigen enters the human body, it can trigger mucosal activation and initiate a cascade of reactions in the body that also include inflammation. This is done because when antigens are free-flowing, they eventually reach the epithelial lining, where all the activities mentioned earlier take place. However, the body has its defense mechanisms via the immune system that can neutralize these antigens before they can cause mucosal activation. To achieve that, it needs IgG antibodies.

When that happens, the invasion of antigens triggers a response from the immune system – its adaptive and innate branches, to be precise. The first branch utilizes T and B lymphocytes (aka immunoglobulins or IgG) to track foreign antigens, neutralize them, and dispose of them out of the body safely. This is done via the production of antibodies from B lymphocytes that bind to these antigens and eliminate them from the system. As a result, the damage of metabolic endotoxemia is significantly reduced while an endotoxin that can cause mucosal activation (aka lipopolysaccharides or LPS) is neutralized.

Besides LPS, MegaIgG2000 can also bind and neutralize:

  • Flagellin – Antigenic proteins that provide motility by forming appendages.
  • Helicobacter pylori – Gram-negative bacteria in the gut.
  • Mycoplasma spp. - Bacteria resistant to most antibiotics with no cell wall.
  • Listeria monocytogenes – Anaerobic bacteria (Gram positive).
  • Lipoteichoic acid (LTA) – Gram-positive bacteria cell wall component with immunostimulatory properties.

Also, Poly I:G, CpG, PAM3CSK4, and others.

About the Manufacturer

Microbiome Labs is a manufacturer of supreme quality nutritional supplements founded by microbiologists Dr. Tom Bayne and Kiran Krishnan. The company targets gut health exclusively, which is believed to be the foundation for optimal health and wellbeing overall. The two founders combined probiotic research and clinical expertise and formulated MegaSporeBiotic – the first all-spore probiotic that contained Bacillus spores. Today, this development is considered the future of probiotic supplements.

Some of the Microbiome Labs best-selling formulas are mucosal barrier-strengthening MegaMucosa, healthy yeast-supporting MegaMycoBalance, microbial diversity-increasing MegaPreBiotic, digestive flora balance-supporting High Potency Bacillus Subtilis, and healthy intestinal environment-fostering RestorFlora.
