Rhizoma smilacis Glabrae (tu fu ling)

According to Wen et al, 1998 Tu Fu Ling can increase the excretion of uric acid, and had anti-gout effects, and suggested that it could be used to treat albuminuria, acute and chornic nephritis and restore renal functions (1)

Rhizoma Imperatae Cylindricae (Bai Mao Gen)

According to Wen et al, 1998 a decoction of Bai Mao Gen demonstrated an antibacterial and diuretic effect in rabbits. In children there was a marked reduction in oedema, lowered blood pressure, an absence of protein and blood cells in the urine, and a normalisation of urine (1)

Herba Taraxaci Mongolici (Pu Gong Ying)

During a study by Su et al, 2008 in to the bacteriostasis, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic effects of the herbal extract Herba Taraxaci, it was found that Herba taraxaci had significant antipyrecit action (2)

Cortex Dictamni Dasycarpi Radicis (Bai Xian Pi)

A study by Hanghui et al, 2008 found that compounds from Bai Xian Pi could inhibit histamine and 5-HT in inflammation models (3)

Caulis Clematidis Armandii (Chuan Mu Tong)

Suggested Use: 2 to 3 capsules daily.

Take for 10 days or until condition clears.

Caution: Caution in patients with deficiency and cold of the Spleen and Stomach and is contraindicated in vomiting caused by cold in the middle jiao.

Warning: UTD has a diuretic effect. Though this potential interaction has not been documented, concurrent use with diuretic drugs may lead to increased elimination of water and/or electrolytes. Note: Examples of diuretics include chlorothiazide, hydrochlorothiazide, furosemide (Lasix), bumetanide (Bumex), and torsemide (Dermadex).
