About Bi Yan Pian

Bi Yan Pian is an herbal dietary formula that can alleviate the symptoms of the common cold and allergies, which include runny nose, itchy eyes, and sneezing, as well as clear up nasal and sinus congestion. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Bi Yan Pian is widely used to clear heat, disperse wind, benefit the nose, expel toxic heat, and transform (dry and dissolve) phlegm.

How Bi Yan Pian Works

Bi Yan Pian formula has been designed to give relief from cold and allergy symptoms and fight the inflammation caused by these conditions. Frequent use of the herbal supplements will help open the nasal passages, clear discharge, and get rid of phlegm so you can not only breathe easier but function as effortlessly as possible within the day as the intensity of the symptoms related to cold or allergy are gradually reduced. Also, the combination of herbs in this formula has potent anti-inflammatory properties which help dispel toxins and wind associated with allergies and colds.

Bi Yan Pian Main Ingredients

Cang Er Zi (Xanthium sibiricum fruit) – An herb that is associated with the liver and lung meridians and helps relieve itching skin, expel wind and damp, relieve stuffy nose, and dispel pathogenic cold and wind. It is particularly effective in treating allergic rhinitis, wind-cold-related headaches, nasal running, wind-damp-related bi syndrome, acariasis, malaria, eczema, and nettle rash. It is also used for gastroenteritis, uterine bleeding, and bacillary dysentery.

Zhi Mu (Anemarrhena asphodeloides rhizome) – An ingredient that is used for chronic bronchitis, dry throat, congestive fever, pneumonia, lumbago, dizziness, cough, excessive sweating, and high fever. In TCM, it relaxes tension, nurtures yin, and purges heat. It may also be used to treat oral ulcers (as part of mouthwash) and lower back pain.

Xin Yi Hua (Magnolia biondii flower) – In TCM, Xin Yi Hua covers the stomach and lung meridians and is used for Wind-Cold invasions. It can treat sinus headaches and nasal conditions, such as nasal obstructions, stuffy nose, and congestion.

Lian Qiao (Forsythia suspensa fruit) – An herb that is considered the panacea for people susceptible to skin infections due to its impressive healing power on clearing away toxins and heat, as well as reducing swelling in the lungs (i.e., in bronchitis). Lian Qiao has broad-spectrum anti-microbial properties and a potent inhibitory effect on influenza virus, Staphylococcus aureus, and other pathogens. It also bears significant antipyretic effects while the oleanolic acid and vitamin P contained can prevent hemolysis and vomiting, protect the liver from damage, and lower high blood pressure, among others.

Fang Feng (Saposhnokovia divaricate root) – A compound that is widely used to treat a variety of ailments, ranging from arthritis and skin-affecting allergic reactions to common cold, and alleviate symptoms such as throat pain, body aches (including rheumatic pains), fever, and chills. It also holds remarkable health benefits when used to stop feet or hand trembling or for body spasms.

Bai Zhi (Angelica dahurica root) – It has been found that Bai Zhi can improve sex drive, increase the production of urine, kill germs, and stimulate the secretion of phlegm. It can also be applied directly to the skin to treat skin disorders, rheumatism (pain in the joints), and neuralgia (nerve pain).

Gan Cao (Radix glycyrrhizae) – Also known as Licorice Root, this plant soothes the stomach and relieves from gastrointestinal problems. It has potent immune-boosting and anti-inflammatory properties due to the glycyrrhizic acid it contains while it may also help in cases of food poisoning and heartburn.

Jing Jie (Schizonepeta tenuifolia) - An herb used to treat symptoms like chills, headaches, and chills of wind-cold exterior syndromes. Its role is to stop bleeding and expel wind while it can also speed up the blood clotting time. Jing Jie has anti-inflammatory effects too that help reduce swelling.

The Bi Yan Pian formula also contains Jie Geng, Ye Ju Hua, and Wu Wei Zi, all found to improve cold- and allergy-related symptoms and promote healthy in a variety of different ways. Other ingredients include talcum, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, and Hypromellose.
