Product Description
Magnesium Bisglycinate
- SKU: M204
- Product form: Powder
- Size: 6.5 oz. (187 g)
Lightly sweetened with Monk Fruit, with a hint of citrus, optimally absorbed, and well-tolerated
- Glycine enhances solubility and absorption of magnesium bisglycinate by decreasing the pH of the intestines.
- Glycine takes up space on the magnesium bisglycinate molecule, decreasing propensity to complex with plant-based phytates that can interfere with absorption.
- The molecular structure of magnesium bisglycinate means less water will attach to the complex, which reduces the laxative effect typically seen in magnesium compounds.
Product Description
A crossover study found that serum levels of magnesium over eight hours were highest for magnesium bisglycinate, followed in order by dimagnesium malate, buffered magnesium bisglycinate, and magnesium oxide.
Magnesium is essential for the health of the heart and blood vessels, brain, bones, skeletal muscles, lungs, and pancreas. A low level of magnesium is associated with an increased level of C-reactive protein. As a cofactor for at least 600 enzymes, magnesium supports numerous mechanisms of action, including:
- Relieves bronchial spasm
- Modulates intracellular electrical activity
- Relaxes smooth and skeletal muscle
- Improves endothelial-dependent vasodilation
- Enhances insulin sensitivity
- Cofactor in numerous enzymes necessary for ATP (energy) production
