Bitter and cold, Paridis Rhizoma (chong lou) enters the blood level of the Liver channel, strongly cools heat and resolves toxicity, resolves heat from constraint, and directs qi downward. It is best at treating sores and reducing boils. It is also good for swollen sore throat, snakebite.
