Description

Akebia Relieving Formula (ba zheng san) is the primary classical prescription used in Chinese medicine for a wide range of Damp Heat related urinary disorders. It is the formula of choice for urinary blockage and bladder infections, and is highly effective in cases of eye infection with concurrent Liver or Heart Fire. This prescription treats two distinct patterns. The first presents with dark, cloudy, difficult, burning or painful urination, urinary retention, or blood in the urine. This is symptomatic of Damp Heat in the Lower Burner lodging in the Bladder. The second pattern, which is Fire or Heat in the Heart channel, presents with extreme thirst, dry throat, red eyes, nosebleeds, mouth or tongue sores and irritability.
